Intox - Venture Center CSR Collaboration

Venture Center and Intox have teamed up to support Funding Database for innovators and inventive entrepreneurs in India

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility activities Intox has provided funding to perform a landscape analysis of the funding and financing programs/mechanisms available in India for supporting technology-based innovations and start-ups that grow out of them. This collaboration was launched in F.Y. 2019-20.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Venture Center will create a publicly available and open access database of all funding options available in India. This funding database is an effort to provide a “prototype and demonstration version” of a one-stop platform of various funding opportunities available to innovators and start-ups in India. The funding database emphasizes support available for innovation-based technology or innovation-based enterprises (http://funding.venturecenter.co.in/about.php)

Innovators, entrepreneurs and start-ups are constantly seeking for new avenues for funding/financing. Inspite of the presence of several databases related to funding/finance options available to technology-based start-ups, a landscape analysis report is currently not available to our knowledge. Funding this database will help Venture Center dedicate resources for this project including research of info, interviews, updating database, writing up policy papers on the innovation landscape and recommending actions to the government, popularizing the database and giving visibility, operating a strong funding advisory and referral activity.

The report generated through this will greatly benefit both current and future entrepreneurs/start-ups in understand the available resources which they can harness for supporting their technology - based innovations. The report will also identify major funders, programs, areas of investment, types of investors, geographical preferences and sizes of the funding/investment that might be willing to deploy. The report shall also analyze the requirements, strategies and expectations of funding agencies, investors and donors, as collected from information available in the public domain. We also plan to provide both data and analytical maps for understanding the current trends and patterns in funding scenario for early stage innovations.
